Play, love, laugh

This was one of those sessions that reminded me why I love photographing families the way I do.

It was a slow morning in the garden. The sunlight filtered through the trees, and there was nowhere we needed to be.

We didn't have a plan.

No shot list. No perfect poses.

We simply let the boys lead the way and saw where the morning took us.

We started with a game of What's the Time, Mr Wolf?, chased each other through the garden, then somehow ended up playing endless rounds of Ring Around the Rosie. Before long, everyone had completely forgotten about the camera.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever had a session with so much laughter.

Mama has the most joyful heart. The way she laughed with her boys, ran alongside them, and threw herself into every game was so beautiful to watch. Her joy was completely contagious, and I found myself laughing right along with them.

It reminded me that children don't need perfect parents. They just want parents who are willing to enter their little world.

Looking back at these photographs, I don't just see a family session. I see a morning full of laughter, little hands reaching for Mum and Dad, tiny legs running as fast as they could, and two boys who were completely free to be themselves.

How beautiful is that?

Those are the moments that stay with us, not because everything was perfect, but because everything was real. 🤍
